By letting go, we actually allow more of the mystery of life to come in for us. By Leslie Karen Lobell, M.A. Isn't that what we wanted all along Freedom like a stone Maybe we were wrong But I can say goodbye Now that the passion's died Still it comes so slow The letting go

Big families have more of everything—lunch boxes, laundry and loose teeth. We make more pancakes, beds and messes, do more homework and dishes. We need more patience, haircuts, and Happy Meals. should I gain weight?
"I want to play hockey, like I did in middle school, but now that I'm in high school, the other guys have bulked up and I haven't. What can I do?" When you hear of plastic surgery, what do you think of? A Hollywood star trying to delay the effects of aging? Somebody's cute "new" nose that cost quite a few allowances? People who want to change the size of their stomachs, breasts, or other body parts because they see it done so easily on TV?

Esto es mi cuerpo?
¿Te has preguntado esto alguna vez?

Is this my body?!
Has this ever happened to you? You're dressing for a date and when you pull on your favorite jeans, you can no longer button them.

Can I prevent acne?
Contrary to what you may have heard, acne is not caused by dirty skin, eating chocolate, or drinking lots of soda. Acne is caused by overactive oil glands in the skin. These glands become stimulated when puberty hormones become active. Some people have more of a reaction to their hormone levels than others, which is why different people have different levels of acne

Food Lables
The nutrition facts label on your favorite breakfast cereal tells you it's full of vitamins and minerals. So it must be healthy, right? Just because a food is high in vitamins doesn't mean it's healthy overall. Sure, it's great that your favorite cereal gives you a shot of vitamins and minerals. But what if it's also loaded with sugar? Eating healthy means choosing lots of different types of food throughout the day to get all the nutrients you need, such as vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fiber, and — yes — even fat. So how do you figure all this out? Thank goodness f...

Getting Rid of Hair
Even before you get your first period, you will likely see new hair growing in your pubic area, under your arms and on your legs. It will start out light and sparse, and then grow darker, coarser, and thicker as you go through puberty.

Body Image and Your Kids
Your body image plays a role in theirs
“On a diet, you can’t eat.” This is what one five year-old girl had to say in a study on girls’ ideas about dieting. This and other research has shown that daughters are more likely to have ideas about dieting when their mothers diet. Children pick up on comments about dieting concepts that may seem harmless, such as limiting high-fat foods or eating less. Yet, as girls enter their teen years, having ideas about dieting can lead to problems. Many things can spark weight concerns for girls and impact their eating habits in potentially unhealthy ways
