Big families have more of everything—lunch boxes, laundry and loose teeth. We make more pancakes, beds and messes, do more homework and dishes. We need more patience, haircuts, and Happy Meals.
What we don’t need is more rules. Big families don’t have time for Twenty Tips on anything.
So I’ve stripped it down to the Three Be’s.
You may not have the hordes in your house that we have, but could your family use an uncomplicated, easy-to-remember system to keep your kids on target? If so, the Three Be’s may be just the right number for you

 "I want to play hockey, like I did in middle school, but now that I'm in high school, the other guys have bulked up and I haven't. What can I do?"
"All of my friends have broad shoulders and look like they lift weights. No matter what I do, I just look scrawny. What can I do?"
"It's not like I want to gain a lot of weight, but I'd like to look like I have some curves, like the girls I see on TV. What can I do?"

 When you hear of plastic surgery, what do you think of? A Hollywood star trying to delay the effects of aging? Somebody's cute "new" nose that cost quite a few allowances? People who want to change the size of their stomachs, breasts, or other body parts because they see it done so easily on TV?

 ¿Te has preguntado esto alguna vez? Te estás vistiendo para ir a una cita y cuando sacas tus jeans favoritos, no puedes cerrar la cremallera. Why is healthy eating important for my child? Many more children in the United States are being diagnosed with high cholesterol (also called hypercholesterolemia), or as overweight or obese. High cholesterol, overweight and obesity can cause many problems with your child's health now and as he or she moves into adulthood

Part of your responsibility as a parent is to teach your children how to lead healthy lives now and when they are adults. The best time to start teaching these lessons to children is when they’re young, before unhealthy choices become bad habits. When you pass on healthy habits to your kids, it’s important to practice what you preach. Just telling your kids what to do won’t work—they need to see you choosing healthy behaviors too.

 Your body image plays a role in theirs “On a diet, you can’t eat.” This is what one five year-old girl had to say in a study on girls’ ideas about dieting. This and other research has shown that daughters are more likely to have ideas about dieting when their mothers diet. Children pick up on comments about dieting concepts that may seem harmless, such as limiting high-fat foods or eating less.
